Pozole's Story

Pozole was part of a litter of seven puppies abandoned at Gafer Veterinary Clinic, the facility where we care for all our rescues. Tragically, the group was hit by parvovirus, and only three survived. Pozole is one of those brave warriors who fought for his life and is now ready to find his forever home.

He is a puppy with a huge personality; while small in size, he has a brave and feisty heart. Due to his past, he has developed resource guarding: he is very protective of his food, toys, and bed. Although he plays and socializes perfectly well with other dogs, he is dominant and does not like to share his belongings. He will need an adopter who understands this behavior and can guide him with patience. He is a loyal companion who just wants to feel secure and never have to worry about anything again.

About Him
~ Name: Pozole
~ Age: Approximately 8 months old
~ Weight: 8 kg (17 lbs) — He is fully grown and will not get any bigger
~ Breed: Likely a Miniature Pinscher mix
~ Temperament: Brave, dominant, and very loyal
~ Behavior: Plays and socializes normally, but has resource guarding (jealous of food and toys)
~ Energy level: High (typical puppy energy)
~ Impact: By adopting him, you honor the struggle of his siblings and allow another dog to be rescued

What’s Included with Adoption
~ Health certificate
~ ISO identification microchip
~ Internal deworming
~ External deworming (Nexgard, Simparica, Bravecto, or pipette)
~ Up-to-date vaccines (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, Coronavirus)
~ Rabies vaccine
~ Neutering (already done)
~ Adoption contract
~ Collar and leash

Adoption Fee
A minimum donation of $200 USD is requested, which allows us to cover his medical expenses and continue helping more dogs in street situations.

How to Adopt
If you are ready to give Pozole the secure home he needs, contact us via:
~ WhatsApp: +52 664 764 1811 (messages only)
~ Email: forhappytails.dogrescue@gmail.com
~ Tijuana pickup: Available by appointment
~ Chula Vista delivery: $50 USD additional fee for border crossing

Help Us Spread His Story
Please share Pozole's story.
