Potato's Story
$150 adoption fee during our holiday adoption promotion!

This gorgeous girl is aptly named Potato due to her spud-like physique. Potato is estimated to be around 12 years old and she came to us after her elderly owner was no longer able to take care of her. Potato came to us at a hefty 45 lbs and is now currently 35 lbs! She's looking for a family who will help her maintain her healthy lifestyle.

Potato is used to having someone home most of the day, so she would greatly benefit from an adopter who is retired or works from home. She loves her people greatly and experiences some separation anxiety when she is left alone. Potato is fostered with children and other dogs and does great. She's a chunky girl who loves her food and would benefit from being separated while feeding (so she doesn't try to fight for her fur siblings' food)!

Watch Potato in action here:
https://youtube.com/shorts/gqFwlgUEKOY
https://youtube.com/shorts/vEdWPdeYqKU

House trained: Yes - expect an adjustment period, but she's doing great!
Leash trained: Yes. She loves going on walks! She'll get excited if we pass other dogs and try to go towards them. But she really doesn't move to fast and she's easy to control.
Kennel trained: No - she does not like her kennel, but she's not destructive.
Rides well in a car: Yep, she's happy to go on car rides.
Good with other dogs: Yes - she can be a bit of a bully to small dogs but does well with medium/large dogs
Good with cats: Not fostered with cats, but we think she'd do fine.
Good with young children (under 10): Yes, she's fostered with kids under 5
Shy or confident: Confident. She's not shy with visitors and will approach them for attention.
Barks: Yes, if "her person" has left. If "her person" is with her, she's as quiet as a mouse
Apartment qualified: No due to separation anxiety barking
Special needs or health concerns: Potato recently had a dental cleaning and senior bloodwork. Everything looks age-appropriate! She might have some diminished hearing but it doesn't impact her day-to-day.

We believe Potato is a small/medium-sized mix and is around 12 years old. She is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $200 ($150 during our holiday adoption promotion special) which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Adoptable pets will have received age-appropriate vaccines and dewormings, a microchip, heartworm test (if applicable) and a spay/neuter.
