POST's Story

Post is a thoughtful, sensitive dog who seems to need a little time and patience before fully letting his guard down, but once he does, people consistently discover a playful, affectionate, and surprisingly goofy side to him. Staff and volunteers described him as a cuddle bug, couch hog, fetch fanatic, and overall happy guy once outside of the stressful kennel environment. He loves chasing balls, carrying around tiny toys and stuffies, rolling around in the grass, and soaking up sunshine during outings. There is something very rewarding about watching a dog like Post slowly relax enough to show his softer side, and the people who have spent time with him clearly saw just how sweet he can be.

Post will likely do best with an adopter who understands that trust and confidence can take time to build. He can appear tense or overstimulated in the kennel environment, especially around unfamiliar people or stressful situations, but outside of that setting he has repeatedly shown loose body language, affectionate behavior, and a willingness to engage with people he trusts. He already knows “sit,” enjoys outings and car rides, and seems happiest when he has room to explore, sniff, and simply exist without pressure. Post feels like the kind of dog who will form an incredibly strong bond with the person willing to give him patience, consistency, and the chance to fully come out of his shell.

All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter's care.
