Everything is brand new to this sweet dog.. She must have a mentor dog in the home and a patient human who understands that "slow and steady" wins the race. <br/><br/>Foster Update: Portland has learned to walk on a leash as long as another dog leads the way. This is new and she’s doing great! We walk around the neighborhood and she’s not bothered by traffic as long as it’s not overwhelming. She seems to really enjoy walking and we are building stamina after a life of sitting most of the day away!<br/><br/>Portland loves her routines and sits in one particular dog bed, it is her home base.<br/>Portland is also close to going down stairs. She goes down with encouragement but has not tried it on her own. So close. Going up is now easy for her.<br/>Portland is such a sweet girl and even cuter as her confidence builds! You can see it in her face and demeanor! Her fear is melting like the snow on the grass. We love that her spark is flickering… it gives us so much joy!<br/><br/>So far we have learned this about our little Polar Bear bestie:<br/><br/>*Portland is great about going potty outside. She allows me to carry her down to the yard and back up our stairs.<br/><br/>*Loves other dogs! <br/><br/>*Quiet in her crate and has appropriate house manners.<br/><br/>*Gentle, compliant and amazing for grooming.<br/><br/>*Trusting people is emerging, connecting to her foster mom is growing day by day.<br/><br/>*Never guards anything or is grumpy… has a sweet and gentle personality.<br/><br/>Please read our breeder release article on our resources page. <br/><br/>See more on her facebook page: Foster Dog Love<br/><br/>Fostered in Green Bay.<br/><br/>ADOPTION FEE: $550<br/><br/>To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION. <br/><br/>Adopters must be 24 years of age. We cannot adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. We are unable to guarantee the breeds of our dogs.<br/>WI License #270548.
