Look at those ears and the all-white hair. She is absolutely a treasure. <br/><br/>Everything is brand new to this sweet, white-haired lady. She’s learning how to be a dog and take it all in for the first time. She must have a mentor dog sibling to follow around and a patient human who understands that "slow and steady" wins the race.<br/><br/>Foster Update: Okay, let’s talk about this tiny, fluffy introvert named Portland. She is our cute baby bear foster girl! We call her Portie. <br/><br/>She’s short. She’s white and fluffy, basically a walking marshmallow. <br/><br/>Yes, she’s shy. She’s not going to sprint into your arms on day one. She’s more of an “observe from a safe distance” kind of girl.<br/><br/>Her short little legs give her a delightful waddle. She doesn’t run — she toddles with purpose. It’s like watching a fluffy cotton ball on tiny stilts. And when she looks up at you with those giant eyes? Congratulations, you are now legally obligated to protect her forever.<br/><br/>She’s not looking for chaos. She’s looking for a calm home, a patient human, and maybe a cozy blanket! She doesn’t need to be the life of the party — she just wants to be your shy little sidekick.<br/><br/>So far we have learned this about our little Polar Bear bestie:<br/><br/>*Portland is great about going potty outside. She allows me to carry her down to the yard and back up our stairs.<br/><br/>*Loves other dogs!<br/><br/>*Quiet in her crate and has appropriate house manners.<br/><br/>*Gentle, compliant and amazing for grooming.<br/><br/>*Trusting people is emerging, connecting to her foster mom is growing day by day.<br/><br/>*Never guards anything or is grumpy… has a sweet and gentle personality.<br/><br/>Portie is emerging and blossoming. She is shy and slightly skittish. She loves to observe but is relaxing more day by day. She was a former mill dog who produced adorable pups for years. <br/><br/>Adopt the marshmallow. Earn her trust. Become her favorite human. It’s a slow-burn love story, but trust me — it’s the best kind. <br/><br/>I will update more as we learn more but she is available to adopt now if you are ready to be a patient, kind and a “no expectations” type of adopter!
