Meet Porter!<br/><br/>Male / Husky Mix / 10 weeks old / 10lbs / UTD on Shots / Good with Kids and Dogs<br/><br/>Rescued from Northern Manitoba, looking for a home Toronto/GTA<br/><br/>Background<br/><br/>Porter is a 10-week-old male puppy who was rescued from Northern Manitoba with help from our friends at K9 Advocacy Manitoba. This curious little guy is already winning hearts everywhere he goes with his friendly personality, goofy charm, and eagerness to make new friends. Whether it's people, dogs, or an interesting patch of greenery, Porter is ready to investigate it all!<br/><br/><br/>Personality<br/><br/>Porter is the perfect mix of playful and snuggly. He loves to explore, romp around with his canine friends, and greet everyone he meets, but once he's burned off some puppy energy, he's more than happy to curl up for a well-earned nap. He's a confident, social puppy who takes new experiences in stride and isn't easily fazed.<br/>One of Porter's funniest quirks is that he's a very chatty little guy—not with barking, but with adorable grumbles and groans that make him sound like a tiny old man. He's also incredibly smart and highly food motivated, already mastering puzzle toys and learning new skills with enthusiasm.<br/><br/><br/>Ideal Home<br/><br/>Porter is an adaptable pup who could thrive in many different homes, from condos to houses, as long as he's given plenty of love, exercise, and opportunities to learn. A fenced yard would certainly make potty training easier, but it's not a requirement as long as he has plenty of access to green space.<br/>He has done wonderfully with children, including young kids, and would make a fantastic family companion. He also loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine playmate, though he'd also do well as an only child as he loves to be the centre of attention! Porter has shown some early interest in birds and squirrels, so any introductions to smaller pets should be thoughtful and supervised.<br/><br/><br/>Training & Activity<br/><br/>Like any young puppy, Porter is still learning the ropes. He's already mastered **sit**, **down**, and **off**, and is currently working on **come**, **drop it**, and responding consistently to his name.<br/>He's doing an excellent job with crate training, settles quickly when left alone, sleeps through the night, and is making great progress with house training. His leash skills are also improving every day—he occasionally stages a tiny puppy protest by sitting down mid-walk, but a little encouragement gets him moving again!<br/>Porter has a moderate energy level and currently enjoys daily walks, puzzle toys, exploring the neighbourhood, and playing with other dogs. As he grows, he'll likely enjoy an active lifestyle with plenty of adventures.<br/><br/><br/>Porter's Perfect Match<br/><br/>Porter is a happy, affectionate puppy with all the wonderful qualities people hope for in a young dog: friendly, confident, clever, and eager to learn.
