Pops's Story

Pops, lovingly known as Papito, is a 6-7 year old, 8.5 pound Chihuahua with oversized ears, an even bigger heart, and just enough quirks to make him completely unforgettable.

Papito is a gentle little guy who may be shy when you first meet him, but give him a little patience and he'll soon become your tiny shadow. Once he trusts you, he wants nothing more than to be close to his favorite person, following you from room to room, hopping into your lap for cuddles, or curling up nearby while you relax.

One of Papito's favorite things in life is going for walks and car rides. He's polite on leash, enjoys being out with you, and is always happy to tag along for whatever adventure you have planned. Count him in for car rides! Whether you're running errands, heading to a patio lunch, or taking a weekend drive, he'll happily hop into the car (or even the truck!) and ride along like the perfect co-pilot.

Papito is a quiet, well-mannered little gentleman who rarely barks (unless he has something important to say). He thrives on a predictable routine and is happiest when life is calm and consistent. If you work from home, he'll snooze peacefully nearby while you work. If you're gone during the day, he does wonderfully on his own with no separation anxiety and happily waits for you to come home.

Meal time is where Papito's adorable personality really shines. He absolutely loves breakfast and dinner, but he's convinced stainless steel bowls are highly suspicious. Instead, this gentleman insists on dining from his favorite silicone plate because it doesn't make noise or slide around. The moment he sees his special "plate" come out, he starts bouncing and spinning in excited little circles, and it's impossible not to smile.

Papito loves affection and will happily jump into your lap whenever the opportunity arises. One thing he doesn't enjoy, however, is being picked up. He will occasionally tolerate being lifted up and held but like many small dogs, he prefers to keep all four paws on the ground and would much rather climb into your lap on his own than be lifted. Respecting this simple preference allows his sweet, loving personality to shine.

He's about 99% house trained with only the occasional accident, which is usually on a potty pad if it happens at all.

Papito is wonderful with dogs of all sizes and enjoys having canine companions around, though he doesn't depend on another dog to be happy. He would do best in a quiet, adult-only home without children, where his gentle nature and predictable routine can continue to help him feel safe and secure.

If you're looking for a loyal little companion who loves walks, adventures, patio dates, quiet evenings on the couch, and has just enough quirky personality to make you laugh every day, Papito is ready to become your very best friend.
