Meet Poppy 🐾<br/><br/>Poppy is a five-month-old Lab mix puppy with a heart as big as her bright future. She came to us after being brought to a local veterinary clinic to be euthanized simply because she was no longer wanted. Thankfully, our amazing vet immediately saw what we all now know—Poppy is incredibly special and absolutely full of life. He refused to let her story end there.<br/><br/>Poppy has since been fully vetted, already spayed, and is a healthy, happy, energetic baby. Because her vetting and spay are already complete, her adoption fee is lower—making it even easier to give this deserving girl the loving home she’s been waiting for.<br/><br/>Poppy is eager to please and loves being right by your side. She is already leash trained, crate trained, and doing well with her potty training. She gets along great with other dogs and enjoys playing ball, but her favorite place is wherever her people are.<br/><br/>This sweet girl is ready for a fresh start and a family who will cherish her the way she deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and joyful puppy to add to your home, Poppy may be your perfect match. 🐶<br/><br/>Foster & delivery Information — Please Read<br/><br/>This dog is fostered with one of our rescue families in Texas and is available to travel north on our scheduled trips, which run at least twice each month.<br/><br/>Due to recent technical changes on this site that began in early December, dogs fostered outside an adopter’s immediate area may not appear unless filters are adjusted. We encourage adopters to read profiles fully and reach out with any questions — we are always happy to help. Inquiries through the site are not always coming through. Occasionally, we may not have had a puppy long enough for a second round.<br/><br/>Puppies under 6–8 months of age are not spayed or neutered. Spaying or neutering is a required condition of adoption and must be completed by the puppy’s first birthday, at the adopter’s expense. Out-of-state surgery costs are not included in the adoption fee.<br/>⸻<br/>About Our Rescue<br/>Atlanta Texas Area Spay Neuter Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Adoption proceeds go directly toward:<br/> • Spaying and neutering dogs for low-income families in Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana<br/> • Medical care for rescued puppies and dogs<br/> • Emergency veterinary assistance for families in need when possible<br/><br/>All dogs remain in Texas foster homes until adopted.<br/>⸻<br/>Breed Disclaimer:<br/>Breed is our best estimate based on the puppy’s appearance and, when known, the mother’s appearance.
