Poppy's Story
Poppy is a 1–2 year old sweetheart currently in Los Angeles, looking for a foster or forever home in the area. She's the kind of gentle, happy girl who just lights up a room with her calm energy and wagging tail. We pulled her from a Kern County shelter literally one hour before her scheduled euthanasia, and she's been proving every day since what a fighter and lover she is.

She bounced back beautifully from pneumonia right after rescue and is feeling great now. She's lined up for double leg surgery soon (fully covered by the rescue and amazing community donations), and in the meantime she's still getting around on short walks like a champ. Watching her resilience has been incredible—she's got so much joy to share.

Poppy is friendly with everyone: dogs, people, and likely cats too, thanks to her easygoing vibe. She's low-maintenance, affectionate in a quiet way, and perfectly content just hanging near her people.

She'd be a wonderful fit for a kind-hearted family or short-term foster (we provide all supplies!) where she can keep healing surrounded by comfort. Poppy's already overcome so much and greets life with such brightness—helping her become the healthy, happy pup she was always meant to be would be so rewarding. Local LA folks, she's waiting for you!
