Poppy's Story
Saved at the 11th hour from euthanasia at a high kill shelter!

This beautiful, female, 2 yr old Staffy mix came to us when she was brought to a high kill shelter after being hit by a car which left her with severe injuries to both legs. An amazing rescue got her out moments before being euthanized and took her directly to a vet, but could not afford the vet care she required. We took over with the help of a generous donor and our wonderful orthopedic surgeon. Poppy has had two corrective surgeries on her front legs and is currently with a loving foster mom, Debbie and her partner Lisa who is a dog trainer, who have nursed her back to health. Our sweet girl is a true survivor and trooper! She is walking fine now and our doctor has signed her off with the ok that she can now find her forever home. Poppy would be best suited as an only dog as she can be dog selective. She can also be a bit protective of her toys and bones. Poppy craves human attention and would be a great companion or family dog! She's such a love and is so faithful to her "person." Poppy has been through so much in her young life that we want to find her the absolute best forever home out there!

Poppy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.

Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020
