Poppy's Story

Poppy is a 3-month-old mixed breed sweetheart with a big personality and an even bigger heart! At 27 pounds already, she's expected to grow into a large dog, but don't tell her thatshe's convinced she's a lap dog and loves to snuggle whenever she's finished playing.

This happy, curious girl is always ready for her next adventure. Whether she's exploring a new place, meeting new people, chasing a ball, or playing with her toys, Poppy approaches life with confidence and excitement. She is friendly, outgoing, and comfortable in just about any environment. Everyone she meets is a potential new best friend!

Poppy has a wonderful medium energy level. She loves to run, play, and explore, but she's equally happy to curl up for a nap afterward. Like most puppies, she's a fan of chew toys and enjoys having plenty of things to keep her busy while she's still teething.

Poppy is crate trained and sleeps quietly in her kennel overnight. She may protest for a few minutes when first crated, but settles down quickly. She's doing great with her potty training and is accident-free in her kennel. She's still learning the rules when she's out and about in the house, but with a consistent routine and frequent potty breaks, she's making excellent progress.

She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a canine playmate, though it's not required. Poppy is also great with children and enjoys having people to play with, just keep in mind that she's a growing puppy and may accidentally knock over very small children during her enthusiastic play sessions.
Poppy would thrive in a home that can continue her puppy training, provide plenty of playtime and adventures, and most importantly, shower her with love. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but what she really wants is a family to call her own.

If you're looking for a friendly, affectionate, and fun-loving companion who will grow up to be your loyal adventure buddy and cuddle partner, Poppy may be the perfect match!

Apply to adopt at: https://www.woofanimalrescue.org/adopt

This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason.

Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval.

Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Breed and age estimates are based on veterinary advice, shelter records, physical appearance, and information provided by previous owners.

The adoption fee includes:

Microchip registered to 24 Pet Watch for free

DHPP Vaccine series

Bordetella Vaccine

Leptospirosis Vaccine series

Rabies vaccine

4DX Heartworm test (7 months of age or older)

Spay/Neuter (performed at one of our partner veterinarians as scheduled by the rescue)

General wellness care (includes deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention)

For adoption questions, you can submit inquiries to woof.adoptions@gmail.com

Thank you for considering adoption and helping give rescue dogs a second chance!
