Poppy Corgi Edisto Island, SC

This petite shy beauty is looking for a quiet life of leisure cuddling with and loving her people and playing with a fur bro. She loves to run & play outside, just hang out on the porch or walk in a quiet park like setting. Rain is not a problem, but cars are. And sudden noises or movements. Poppy does better walking with another dog she can take cues from.

She spent her first 5 years as a breeder dog. She is still learning about her normal everyday environment, so she can still be startled/overwhelmed by many thing familiar to us. She will need patience and understanding to continue the good work her foster parents started.

Poppy understands “come”, “no”, “go pee-pee”’, and “it’s time to eat”. She is mostly house trained. She can hold her bladder for a long time, but requires an attentive eye to catch her little jig dance or silent door stare to know it is time to go out.

Poppy’’s crate is a happy place. She loves to spend time there, but she will let you know how happy she is when you return home. She likes her treats and food, but shows no food aggression. She likes her chew toys, but shows no guarding tendencies. She is shy and not one for large, noisy crowds. But, she is willing to make friends with strangers be they human or animal when met individually or in small groups. She is good with cats and other dogs.

Poppy is a medium energy dog, but she keeps her figure trim and likes to test out squeezing into small spaces. She is not a digger, nor much of a barker beyond visitors at the door and as back up to other barking dogs. She does have a bit of the corgi herding instinct and will try to herd & nip other dogs

Poppy is available for adoption in the states of NC, SC, and GA only. We will consider a home with children 12 years or older. Her adoption fee is 400.00.
