Poppy's Story
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application at the link below and plan to attend our puppy adoption event on Sunday June 14th at Gypsy Road Brewing from noon - 2 pm. We will also hold a puppy yoga class with them beforehand at 11 am. Learn more and get your ticket on our website! http://www.lovethemutt.org/2026/05/puppy-yoga.html

Breed: German Shepherd or possibly a mix

DOB: 04/27/2026

Weight: The puppies in this litter currently weigh between 7 and 12 lbs at 7 weeks of age. Mom will weigh 70-ish lbs when she reaches full weight. She came to us as an emaciated and pregnant stray. We were not there at the time of conception, so we don't actually know who their dad is. BUT there was a male GSD who was dumped in the same place at the same time as her, and we suspect he could be the dad or A dad of the puppies (since each egg is fertilized individually, technically each pup could have a different father). It will be fun to watch them grow! Any adopter should be prepared for them to be mixed breed but to also have the personality, intelligence, and charisma of a German Shepherd. And also the thick coat.

Notes from foster: Poppy has a sweet side and a spicy side! This girl is so funny and playful, and when she is done playing and ready for a nap, she will run straight to her foster mom and dive into her lap. She loves to fall asleep right on top of you. Poppy is really funny at meal times too. She will lay down to eat out of the bowl, often tipping it up on it's side and lazy-eating out of it.

Medical notes: The puppies have had 1st round of vaccines, multiple wormings, and have been microchipped. Adopters take over the veterinary care for continued vaccines, but the cost of their spay/neuter is covered in their adoption fee.

If you are interested in giving Poppy the permanent, loving home that she deserves, please fill out an application at the link below to get the ball rolling on a meet and greet.

https://form.jotform.com/202046006590041

If this link doesn't open by clicking on it, just copy and paste it into a new browser.

Adopters must live within a 45 mile radius of Winston-Salem. Our adoption fee is $275, non negotiable.
