Poppi's Story
Hello to Pops or Poppi. He was the shelter favorite and still he was on the walk down the final hallway. What happened? This boy was surrendered and the shelter workers all said he was the favorite. He's definitely all puppy and learned commands quickly. He went to a couple doggy day outs and was adorable. He went to the play yard and did great with the other energetic young dogs. He went to two different adoption events, but no one chose him. He was to return from the second event and go to the kill room. The poor shelter worker couldn't and reached out to beg one last time.
So here's Poppi. He is just a sweet boy. He came in with a raging urinary tract infection and dehydrated. We had him neutered and fixed him all up with a vet and medication so now he feels much better. Because of his size and being just a year old pup he should be with kids that are at least bigger than he is. Not because he would intentionally be too rough, he's just very energetic, playful, and young. Pops loves car rides and going new places. He hangs out the window to have the wind blowing his face. He loves meeting new people, and does well off leash recall. He can pull on the leash but he is getting better. We always greet new dogs off leash so that he can use his greeting skills well. He does well with same play style and energy pups, he's very curious with small dogs and they can be intimidated by his goofy forward greetings, so we try to match play styles.
This boy is completely house broken, doesn't mess with the human's things, loves toys but does like to de-stuff. It just makes me smile that he finally learned to play again.
Want a forever partner in crime? Want an adventure seeking, fast learning, evening couch potatoe? Think you would like to spend as long as you want petting silky ears and soft fur? Poppi would love to be that dog. Come meet this great dog, you'll fall in love.
