Pop Eye's Story
Meet Pop Eye, a 2-year-old male Bulldog with a larger-than-life personality packed into his sturdy 30-lb frame. This handsome guy came to us from a local shelter and starts out a little shy, but give him a few moments of gentle pets and he completely blossoms. Ear rubs are his absolute weakness—rub them and watch his whole back end wiggle with joy. Pop Eye sometimes forgets he has just one eye and gets adorably confused by moving things, which only makes him more endearing. Mealtime is always an event thanks to his quirky mouth and his serious love of food, resulting in enthusiastic, messy eating that’s impossible not to smile at.

Pop Eye is a connoisseur of the cozy life. His perfect day includes snacks and treats, stretching out on the couch, watching colorful cartoons, and soaking up as much attention as possible. Belly rubs and scratches behind his ear are top-tier favorites, and he lives for naps, cuddles, and being right in the middle of whatever his people are doing. Toys and pig ears don’t interest him much—he’d much rather be admired, adored, and doted on like the little king he believes he is.

What truly sets Pop Eye apart are his unforgettable quirks. He prefers not to walk much, especially in the dark, and will happily choose being carried when he gets tired. During potty breaks, he may suddenly transform into a statue and refuse to budge. If any bag is opened—food or otherwise—he assumes it’s for him and may break into the fastest run you’ll ever see from him. When cuddling, he insists on being close but often faces away, carefully scooting his backside into you. Popeye is silly, sweet, and wonderfully unique—and he’s ready to bring nonstop laughs and love to the lucky home that calls him theirs. 💙

Pop Eye comes with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists and online materials to help you settle your new furry friend into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy, and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday through Friday).

Interested in adopting?
