Meet Pookie.<br/><br/>Some dogs want a comfy bed. Some dogs want a basket full of toys. Pookie wants those things too... but mostly she wants your lap.<br/><br/>This 8-year-old French Bulldog has never met a cuddle she didnt like. Her favorite activity is climbing into your lap, staring lovingly into your eyes, and promptly falling asleep while snoring loud enough to remind everyone that she is, in fact, a Frenchie. If personal space is important to you, Pookie would gently encourage you to reconsider.<br/><br/>Pookie came to rescue in rough shape, arriving severely underweight and in need of medical care. Since then, she has blossomed into a happy, healthy girl who is enjoying all the good things life has to offersnacks, chew bones, toys, naps, and as much affection as she can possibly get. Her foster describes her as cuddly, affectionate, and endlessly devoted to her people.<br/><br/>While Pookie loves other dogs, she does have one rule: her toys belong to her. She takes her collection of balls, chews, and treasures seriously and would appreciate housemates who respect her ownership of the toy box.<br/><br/>Like many French Bulldogs, Pookie has some breathing challenges and would benefit from BOAS surgery in the future. She was also recently spayed and had a mammary tumor removed. To keep her feeling her best, she receives medication for itchy skin and follows a chicken-free diet to help manage allergies.
