PONGO's Story

Please contact foster at, jillstassel@gmail.com If you’ve ever dreamed of a dog who will follow you everywhere, curl up under the blankets with you, and look at you like you hung the moon — Pongo is your guy. He doesn’t just want a home. He wants his person. Pongo’s Life Priorities (in order): 1. Being close to his human — within 3 feet, ideally touching 2. Staying warm under blankets (10/10 better if you combine #1 and #2) 3. His ball Pongo is the definition of a velcro dog — and he wears that title with pride. He’ll snooze on the bathmat while you shower, nap by your desk while you work, and claim his rightful spot pressed against your legs on the couch. He’s not clingy — he’s devoted. There’s a difference. Pongo currently lives happily with two other dogs and even cuddles with his foster siblings on the couch. He does best with calm, respectful dog friends who understand boundaries — especially around his beloved ball. Given a little patience, he makes friends easily and is a total sweetheart. Don’t let the couch potato vibe fool you — Pongo can go the distance. He’s leash trained and happy to walk, hike, or run miles with you. He does get a little excited on leash sometimes and may pull, but who could blame him? The world is full of good smells. He’s equally happy burning energy in the backyard with a good game of fetch. Pongo is fully potty trained and crate trained. He settles quietly in his crate when alone and overnight — though he’d strongly prefer to be under the blankets with you. He has some paw sensitivity, so he’d thrive best in a home without young children. Pongo doesn’t need much. Just your company, a warm blanket, and his ball. Could that be with you?
