Pongo's Story
Pongo is a beautiful white mixed breed puppy with little mystery speckled finely kissed on her little body. This girl is spunky, adorable, affectionate, and ready to pack her bags for her forever home!

HISTORY
Pongo came to us as a stray. She was found in a remote area of SE WA and no one has come forward to claim her. We are estimating her DOB to be October 16, 2025.

Pongo is located in West Richland of Southeast Washington. We advertise our dogs in a variety of locations in an effort to improve their chances of finding great homes. We can assure you, this pup is well worth a road trip! However, if necessary we will arrange transport to bring her to an approved adoptive home within the Pacific Northwest.

SOCIALIZATION
Pongo is just happy to be involved. It doesn't matter if it's playtime, nap time, meal time, or anything in between, she just wants to be a part of whatever is going on. She is your typical energetic large puppy who doesn't quite know how to use her floppy paws or control the way her ears should choose to fall.

Pongo can be vocal when she feels she needs to be. If she hears a strange noise or is in the zone playing with another canine, she tends to be more vocal, but she isn't high strung or talking back in every conversation. She's just a girl who knows how and when to use her voice to make it count.

GENERAL TEMPERAMENT AND BEHAVIOR
Pongo is a blank slate as far as preferences go. She does extremely well at meal time, playing with her brother that she is fostered with and settling down when her body needs a rest.

In her foster home, she gets to share a spare room with her brother in a playpen and they receive all the snuggles every time their foster mama gets the chance. She is still very much into chewing anything she can get her little teeth on.

Since she gets to play with another dog most of the awake hours of her day, her energy seems to be fulfilled. We would call her a middle of the road kind of gal. She would be happy with daily walks once fully vaccinated, or play time with canine companions or humans throughout his day. She's not the kind of dog that you need to plan to exercise with hikes and daily dog play dates with friends, though she may enjoy those things here and there too!

Pongo will bark to alert of new noises, people, or animals, and sometimes she gets vocal during play time with canine housemates, but otherwise she is pretty quiet.

TRAINING
In her foster home Pongo is being offered potty pads in her playpen to keep accidents contained to one area. She would thrive in a home where she can start learning to go potty outside and get used to a crate for safety and encouraging rest when she needs it most (like at/after meal times).

Pongo is just a baby, she is young and eager to learn how to be a good family dog. She'd love you to take her to school so she can learn ALL the skills she needs to be his best self. This would be beneficial for you as her pet parent(s) as well so that you can learn to communicate effectively with her and teach her to be confident. She is still working on potty training.

It's important to remember: Pongo is a puppy, and PUPPIES ARE HARD WORK! This little girl is just getting started - she has sharp nails and needle teeth and loves to pounce on shoes and grab hold and tug on anything that moves! As far as she's concerned, anything and everything is for play. She still has everything to learn about being a civilized member of a mainly human family. She will trip you up, piddle on your rug, and chew your stuff. Please don't apply to adopt Pongo unless you're sure you have the time, energy and desire to raise her right!

HEALTH STATUS
General info
Pongo has started her puppy series of vaccinations, been microchipped, and been dewormed. She appears to be in good health. Once full grown, she will likely be somewhere in the 50-70 lbs. range.

HART does not support pediatric spay/neuter, so Pongo has not been sterilized. You will be required in terms of the adoption contract to have your pup sterilized by the time they are 6 months old. At your request, HART will refund you $100 upon receiving proof of sterilization at your expense.

ADOPTION
The adoption fee for Pongo is $425. For more pictures of Pongo, see her Facebook album at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1183958323885255&type=3

To apply to adopt Pongo, please complete our online adoption application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA-A-81, or email HearthfireART@gmail.com and request an adoption application form.

HART dogs live in foster homes, not in a kennel facility. To respect our fosters' privacy, we make our dogs available to meet adopters only after an adoption has been approved.
