MEET POMPEII! STATS: 1 year old, spayed, American Staffy Mix, 50 lbs AFFECTION/ENERGY LEVEL: I have so much fun puppy energy and love to play outside with my dog friends! I will romp, roll, and tumble with the other pups and I smile so big it looks like I'm laughing! I am also very sweet with people and enjoy hanging out and playing fetch. When I am good and tired, ill lay right at your feet and enjoy the quality time. WHAT I LOVE: I love to PLAY! I still have a lot of young pup energy and I try to get all the other dogs to play with me, even if they don’t want to! I really love water and enjoy cooling off in the puppy pool. I'm still trying to figure out if I like being sprayed with the hose, though... I just really love other dogs! KIDS: While I haven’t been formally tested with kids at the shelter, the staff thinks my low key but playful, sweet personality would make me a good friend for kids that are respectful and kind towards me. I still have a lot of puppy energy, so a kid would have to be mindful and understanding of that. OTHER DOGS: I'm dog-friendly and enjoy the company of other dogs! I go to playgroup here at the shelter and I am co-housed with my sister, Kilauea! CATS: Unknown HER MATCH: I would do wonderful with an active family, or one that allows me to get my energy out. I have so much love to share! I would do great as an addition to an existing dog inclusive home, or on my own as long as I can get the enrichment I need. I am just a sweet little pup looking for my new start! SPECIAL NOTE: Sometimes I get so happy that I so tiny little mini jumps up and down on my front feet! Complete an online application and get pre-approved to adopt at https://cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/PetAdoptionSurvey. Once you complete the app, a staff member will call you in 1-2 business days once approved to set up a time for you to meet the pet you are interested in. Every adoptable pet is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention for dogs. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. Adoptions are matched based on best placement and require no negative animal history.
