Polo's Story
Date into Rescue: 08/01/2020
Reason for being in rescue: Hoarding case
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Polo was neutered on 8/20/20. He is ready for his forever home.
Weight: 7.3 lbs
Height: 9 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Adoption Fee: $200

Fence needed? No, but he'd love one!

What kind of home would be best for me? Polo is a young dog that came to rescue as part of a hoarding case. He has a wonderful, happy demeanor but has had no training at all. Polo needs an active family committed to training. He knows nothing about living in a house; every experience is new. Polo's ideal home has someone home during the day. They are committed to training. They live an active lifestyle and will involve their dog in daily activities. Polo could be the only dog or would be happy with other dogs or cats. He will not be adopted to a home that is an apartment or condo - he simply barks too much right now.

What is my personality like? Polo is a yippie, yappy puppy. He barks at everything. He has a loud, sharp bark that is not well suited for apartment or condo life. Polo will benefit from puppy training and lots of physical and mental stimulation. He is a young dog with tons of potential!

Polo is as sweet as they come. He is great with other dogs and indifferent to cats. Polo is learning the ropes of being a house companion. We are working on crate training, but he still makes messes in his crate. He doesn't know about leashes, but is improving with experience. Polo thoroughly enjoys free play time in the fenced areas with other dogs.

How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly and very excited. Polo will likely bark at you when he first meets you.

Other tips and tidbits: Polo's estimated birthday is 1/31/20

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
