What is Bridgeport Animal Control Facilites’s adoption process?

Due to COVID-19, Bridgeport Animal Control is operating by appointment only. The kennels are not open for walk-throughs. Adoptions are conducted by appointment only. To secure an adoption appointment please send in our adoption application to animal.shelter@bridgeportct.gov (remember to include proof of home ownership or a notarized letter from your landlord stating you can have pets.) Once your application is pre-approved, we will contact you to schedule an appointment. Dog Adoption: $80 (includes spay/neuter, 2 vaccinations and a microchip) Cat Adoption: $50 (includes spay/neuter, 2 vaccinations) Be advised that Bridgeport Animal Control does not adopt out unspayed/unneutered animals. Adoption appointments consist of a meet and greet as well as completion of paperwork. Animal Control then schedules a spay/neuter appointment at the veterinarian. Pickup of your new pet is scheduled for after this surgery.
