Pokey Wheaten Terrier & West Highland White Terrier / Westie Mix High Point, NC

Pokey is a darling pup who came to us after his owner died. He is about 8 to 10 years old (no vet records were available) and looks healthy and well cared for. Even his teeth look good. He is 38 pounds. He came with the name Pokey and we kept it since we did not want to change everything in his life all at once.

Pokey has a wonderful coat that is a great combo of fluffy and soft and also a bit wiry textured. His scruffy, smiling face is irresistible!

We truly have no idea what his breed mix is but he is uniquely handsome and has no tail at all, not even a bobbed tail.

Pokey can be just a tiny bit shy for a second but he is super sweet and friendly to strangers, enjoying meeting new people friends. He has good manners and would never dream of jumping up on strangers; he just comes quietly up close for petting and hellos.

He is an easy going pup who just likes to be near his people friends. He is affectionate and cuddly and readily gives kisses.

Pokey is great on the leash and loves walks and exploring. He is used to living with other dogs and so far, has been easy going when meeting other friendly dogs across a fence.

Though he is fine with other dogs, he would be perfectly happy as your only dog. If you want him to be a companion to your current dog, Pokey would be best with a relatively mellow friend. We do not know if he is interested in playing with other dogs but think he would tend towards liking just hanging out instead of playing since he is a middle aged fellow.

Pokey should fit in well in most any household that is low to moderately active. Well behaved kids should be fine since he is a get along with anyone kind of guy. He is used to living with an elderly woman, but certainly will adapt easily to a new home that is a good fit.

He has some degeneration in his back like so many people do as they get to be middle aged so we are helping him to lose a bit of extra weight and giving him a little pain medication as needed.

4. Save the application to your computer, then attach in an email and send to lovingpetinnadoptions@gmail.com
