Pogo-Williamsburg, VA's Story

Meet Pogo:

Pogo is a 6-year-old, 80-lb white-and-black spotted sweetheart who is looking for his forever home after losing his beloved owner and being separated from his siblings. He is house trained, crate trained, leash and obedience trained, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. Pogo gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats, though his comfort level with children is unknown. He loves being indoors, sleeping on the furniture, and staying close to his people.

Pogo walks with a slight limp from a previous accident, but it doesn't slow down his affectionate spirit one bit. Despite his breed’s reputation for energy, Pogo is wonderfully laid-back and truly believes he is the biggest lap dog you’ll ever meet. He loves cuddling and being near his favorite people. He can be a little skittish around men, so he would do best with a patient, gentle family willing to let him build trust at his own pace. Once he feels safe, Pogo’s deeply loving nature shines through. This sweet boy deserves a peaceful, loving forever home where he can feel safe and cherished.

Save the Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue's Adoption Policy
The first step in our adoption process is for the prospective adopter to complete our Adoption Application Questionnaire which helps us best match you with the the dog that would be most suited to your home environment and expectations. Email us at info@savethedals.org with the name of the dog that interests you and we will send you our Adoption Application Questionnaire. If based on the Application Questionnaire we think one of our dogs is a good match to your home environment and expectations, we will follow up with a phone call, advise you of the adoption fee, schedule a home visit if applicable, and arrange a meet and greet with the dog. Adopters are also required to sign our Adoption Contract; you will be provided a copy of the contract for you to review and ask questions before you adopt the dog. Note that we often have multiple applicants wanting to adopt the same dog. Our selection process is not based on whose application we receive first. It is based on who we believe will be the best match for the dog, allowing for the greatest success of a high quality, loving forever home, with the least likelihood of the dog needing to be returned to rescue. We commit to the life of each dog we rescue, such that at any point in the life of the dog if its adopter is no longer able to keep the dog, the adopter signs our adoption contract agreeing that they will return the dog to Save The Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue. The dog is not to be turned into an animal shelter.
