PLUTO's Story

WATCH MY VIDEO...Pluto is on Paw Patrol today! Before our doors open each morning, someone has to make sure everything is ready... and Pluto was more than happy to volunteer for the job. For almost two months, this handsome 6-year-old boy has been making us smile, so today he joined our staff as we opened up the shelter. He carefully checked out each room and made sure everything was exactly as it should be before our visitors arrived. We think he takes his job very seriously. Watching Pluto patrol the building is adorable, but it also reminds us of how badly we want him to have a place of his own to watch over. Pluto had been with the same family since he was just a puppy, but they recently had to surrender him because caring for a dog became too much responsibility. After six years in a home, shelter life has been a big adjustment, and we would love nothing more than to see him back where he belongs. Pluto is a happy, affectionate boy who absolutely loves people. He loves being petted, enjoys playing with toys, is very food motivated, and gets so excited to head outside that he can’t wait to start exploring. He walks well overall, although he can pull a little at first because he’s just so excited to be out and about. He’s also a big fan of comfy beds, spending time outdoors, and soaking up all the love he can get. Pluto would do best as the only pet in the home, where he can have all of his family’s love and attention to himself. In return, he’ll be a loyal best friend who will happily patrol the house, keep you company, and fill your days with smiles. After helping us open the shelter today, we’re hoping the next doors Pluto gets to walk through are the doors to his forever home. If you are ready to adopt, please complete a pre-adoption application on our website (link in bio) and come meet your new best friend. The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road in Fort Lauderdale and adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. Call 954-989-3977 with any questions.
