PJ's Story
Pj (aka peach, peaches, peachy keen) has a rather tragic story. He was an owner surrender, who was severely emaciated, anemic, and dehydrated for an extended period of time. His body covered in large wounds and his fur stained yellow from being forced to live in his own waste. When I received Pj we were all fearful he wouldn't survive, but despite the odds, this sweet boy persevered. He fought for his life and has made a tremendous recovery. The best way to describe Pj is he is just happy to be here, happy to be alive. (Which is where peachy came from) Pj is very snuggly but also does well just laying by your feet playing with his toys. He loves to explore new activities. So far he enjoys paddleboarding, boating, splashing in the creek, and hiking. He loves going for rides, going to the pet stores, parks and getting to play with humans and other dogs. Socializing and quality time are high on this boys list. He also slept through fireworks and did very well in high traffic areas like downtown GR and holland during tulip time. He has been good around children and cats as well. When he meets cats, he wants to give a sniff and boop but will respect their space if they ask for it. Pj is house trained, free roam and picks up on commands very fast. He is not food or toy agressive. He would benefit going to a home with other animals and a family that can give him good quality time and willing to take him on adventures. He gets sad when he is left completely alone and will howl, which im sure is ptsd. Pj is a very loving, loyal and a well rounded dog who deserves the world. Peach has brought so much joy and love to my life and I have no doubt he will do the same for you. If you are interested, i am happy to answer any questions about my experiences as pj's foster and share more videos/ photos of our adventures.

((Pj is approximately 4-5 years old and appears to be a pit bull mix ( potentially king Corso).
White in color with brown spots
Dog, cat and child friendly
House trained
Free roam
Vaccinated
Neutered (06/25/26)
He has dry eye which he receives daily eye drops for and he also receives a skin allergy shot.

To meet PJ, please head to www.pettalesrescue.com and fill out an application today!

PJ's minimum adoption donation is $300 payable via Venmo, PayPal ($10 fee added), or Cash.
