PJ's Story

Meet PJ!

PJ is a 1-year-old American Bully who is, medically speaking, a bit of a “special edition” model… but personality-wise? He’s 100% pure chaos, comedy, and cuddles.

This boy has already given us a full medical drama series in his short life—complete with cardiology workups, mystery collapse episodes, and enough testing to make your insurance company cry. The good news? Nothing infectious was found, and his heart just likes to keep things… unpredictable. So he’s on daily medication (hyoscyamine, 3x a day) to keep his electrical system from throwing surprise parties.

And because PJ believes subtlety is overrated, he also comes with a slight head tilt from past trauma. It doesn’t affect his life in the slightest—it mostly just makes him look like he’s permanently judging your life choices… in a cute way.

Despite all of this, PJ is currently doing GREAT. No recent episodes, no slowing down, and absolutely no awareness that he is, in fact, a bit of a medical hot mess.

Personality-wise, he’s all puppy: goofy, affectionate, playful, and convinced personal space is a myth. He LOVES other dogs, thrives with playmates, and is equally committed to cuddling as he is to causing mild chaos.

PJ is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped—and fully committed to being someone’s shadow (and possibly their emotional support comedian).

He will need yearly cardiology follow-ups and an adopter who’s comfortable rolling with the occasional “what was THAT?” moment, because PJ keeps life interesting.

If you’re looking for a dog who is equal parts sweetheart, goofball, and medically complicated gremlin… PJ is your guy.

Apply to adopt him at www.muttsinarutrescue.com
