Pixie's Story

Hi, I'm Pixie. I'm about 5 years old, and I'll be honest-life hasn't been easy for me. I ended up at Chicago Animal Care and Control after spending time on the streets, and before that, well, let's just say I wasn't shown the kindness I needed.

But when the people at C.A.R.E. met me, something clicked. They saw past the scared dog who wasn't sure if she could trust anyone anymore. They noticed my tail doing these soft little wags when someone speaks gently to me. They saw the quiet wiggles I can't quite hide when I'm getting love and attention.

Underneath my quiet exterior is a dog with so much love to give. All I really want is someone to share it with. I'm great in the car-there's something about those rides that makes me feel calm and hopeful, like good things might be just around the corner. And with each passing day, I'm discovering that the world can be gentle, that kindness is real, and that maybe my forever home is closer than I think.

I need someone who gets it. Someone who'll let me take my time figuring out that I'm finally safe. Someone who can see that I have so much to give.
I've waited long enough to know what real love feels like. If you think you might be that person, I'm here. I'm ready.

Love and licks,
Pixie

I've waited long enough to know what real love feels like. If you think you might be that person, I'm here. I'm ready.
