Pixar's Story

Hi there, I’m Pixar—a happy-go-lucky Akita/Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for life. I’ve been through more than most pups my age, but you’d never know it. After being hit by a car before my rescue, I’ve healed up beautifully and am now ready to start my next chapter with a forever family of my own.

Pixar is the definition of sweet and gentle. He loves everyone he meets —adults, kids, and dogs of all sizes (the only exception is Cats as he has a high prey drive)—and has the perfect balance of playful energy and calm companionship. He’s just as happy romping around with dog friends as he is lounging by your side, soaking up affection.

One of Pixar’s favorite things? Water! Splashing around brings him pure joy, and ice cubes are his snack of choice. He’s curious about the world, walks nicely on a leash, and would make an excellent walking or running partner for someone who enjoys getting outside. His easygoing nature and sunny disposition make him a true pleasure to have around—his foster family says he’s one of the most lovable dogs they’ve ever met.

Pixar is incredibly gentle with people, including children, but he also has a loyal, protective side and will let you know when someone’s at the door. He’s the perfect blend of loving companion and devoted guardian.

Pixar is looking for a family who will offer him love, patience, and a safe place to continue growing stronger and more confident. A yard to play in and doggy friends to share it with would be a dream come true. And as an added bonus—he doesn’t shed nearly as much as you’d expect from a husky-type breed! All Arctic Rescue dogs are marked “yes” to “Needs Experienced Adopter”. This is because Northern Breeds typically have higher exercise, training, and care requirements than others. We recommend thoroughly researching the breed before pursuing adoption, if you do not have prior experience. Please note, Pixar has not yet been kids or cat tested.

Arctic Rescue's Adoption Policy
HOW OUR ADOPTIONS WORK: 1) We require all adopters to fill out an online application at: https://www.arcticrescue.com/adopt 2) We are a Utah-based rescue. All potential adopters must come to Utah and meet the dogs. We do not transport dogs. 3) We want to make sure that your home is the perfect fit for one of our dogs and vice versa. We want all members of the family to be happy and well matched with each-other, so require families to do a phone interview, reference checks, meet dogs and pass a home-inspection before adoption.
