Pita Pocket's Story
She got her name appropriately...this girl was only 1.4lbs when she came into our rescue and she fit right in our pocket! At only 3lbs now, our tiny Pita Pocket still snuggles into any pocket big enough to hold her! As sweet as they come with a touch of princess sass, we can't get enough of our pint sized girl!

Meet the "Bread Litter!" This group of 4 doesn't come without a story. They were part of a litter of SIXTEEN puppies that were found dumped in a rural area of Southern Illinois who were lucky enough to be seen by a mail carrier with a heart of gold. The puppies were all huddled together alone in the woods with no mom to be found. The puppies were all rescued by one of our founders and immediately taken to our vet for care. The puppies were covered in ticks, fleas and had one of the worst intestinal parasite loads we've seen. They were obviously starving and extremely dehydrated. Sadly, 1 puppy had already passed when they were found and another was in critical condition who did not survive either.

Fourteen puppies is a huge undertaking for any rescue but luckily with the help of 3 other rescues, all 14 puppies had rescue confirmed within 24 hours. Our 4 STAAR puppies came home with us that day and so begins the better story for our Bread Litter!

We do not know for sure what our little Bread babes were made with, but our best guess is a mix of Husky, Shepherd and Lab. Regardless, they are adorable, smart, adventurous and ready to find the forever families they so deserve! This crew is eager to please and highly food motivated. From the first day of having them, they were excellent about keeping their sleeping area clean and using puppy pads. They will learn quickly and be excellent cuddle bugs! They ADORE other dogs of all sizes and gain so much confidence with another dog to learn from.

The Bread Litter is around 8 weeks old and ready to find their people! Their adoption fee includes their spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate vaccines, multiple dewormings and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Reach out to us to meet this perfectly baked crew! **Puppies will be spayed/neutered next week but ready for meet and greets now!**
