Pita's Story

Meet Pita! This adorable girl was discovered as a stray near a vet's office in Mexico. Her rescuers brought her to El Centro to help her adjust to a home setting. Our rescue was asked to assist in getting her to San Diego to find her forever family. Pita weighs about 40 lbs and is just 11 months old. At such a tender age, she still has the potential to blossom into a confident and joyful pup.

Pita is a sweet yet very timid girl. She is still getting used to new surroundings and requires some extra love and patience to help her feel completely secure in a new environment. She adores people and prefers dogs of a similar size. She is crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate. She is not destructive and enjoys her toys. She has established a potty routine and needs to feel safe to be able to relieve herself in a yard space.

When she feels at ease, she is very motivated by treats. She loves children, but the hustle and bustle of kids in a home can sometimes prevent her from fully relaxing in a new environment. She would likely thrive in a home with teenagers who can provide her the space and time to unwind while still showering her with the love and attention she deserves. She is a true velcro pup once she feels at home with you.

If you have lots of patience and love to give, Pita can be your girl!
