Pippa's Story

MEET PIPPA:

Some dogs arrive at the shelter with confidence. Pippa arrived with fear. At just 7 pounds, and 4 years of age, the world felt impossibly big for this tiny little girl, and the loud, unfamiliar shelter was an overwhelming place to be. It's hard to imagine how frightened she must have been, waiting for someone who never came. Thankfully, her story didn't end there. Once she was transferred into a loving foster home, the scared little stray began to realize that people could be kind, life could be safe, and love was still waiting for her.

Pippa has blossomed into an affectionate little companion who loves being close to her people. She's perfectly content being scooped up for cuddles, happily rides along on car adventures, and has already mastered the art of couch snuggles. She has no trouble navigating stairs, is crate trained, and has demonstrated an excellent understanding of house manners.

Pippa has done well with other dogs and has also met cats without concern. Because of her tiny stature, she'll need a family that understands she can easily be injured by rough play with much larger dogs, even if everyone has the best intentions. She would also do best with older, mature, dog-savvy children who understand how to respectfully handle such a petite pup.

The big world is still a little intimidating for Pippa, so she'll benefit from continued confidence-building and leash training as she learns that adventures outside aren't so scary after all. She's a quiet little girl who isn't known for being vocal, making her an easy companion to have around the house.

Like many Maltese and Yorkie mixes, Pippa will require regular professional grooming, along with routine brushing at home, to keep her beautiful coat healthy, comfortable, and free of painful mats.

Due to her size and limited recall, Pippa is not a candidate for a tether or invisible fence. A secure, physically fenced yard will help keep this tiny girl safe while she enjoys exploring at her own pace.

Pippa has spent enough time wondering where she belonged. Now she's ready to find a family who will cherish her, protect her, spoil her with endless snuggles, keep her looking her very best, and love her furever.

Pippa is:
Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
Dewormed
Heartworm Tested: Negative
Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
Microchipped
Scheduled for spay surgery at our partner Veterinary office in Chesterfield on 8/4.

ADOPTION FEE: $400

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.

FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
