Meet Pippa

Welcome Pippa! Pippa is about a year and a half old, and weighs around 40 lbs. She started her life as an outside dog, but has quickly learned how much fun it is to be a house dog!

Pippa is fully potty trained, kennel trained, and will walk into her kennel on command – although she’ll happily follow a treat if you’re offering. She enjoys being in her kennel, as she views it as a nice place to sleep during the night. She doesn’t mind if people are out and about while she’s in her crate, but she’ll whistle if doggy friends are wrestling without her. The nerve! If everyone is away or Foster Mom needs to get work done, Pippa will contentedly nap in her crate until it’s playtime again. She also knows to sit politely to be leashed and the ‘wait’ command to politely walk through the door. She’s currently mastering how to manage her energy level based on the environment: inside is for low-key play and naptime, and the dog park is where she can go all out!

Pippa is dog friendly! She currently lives in a multi-dog household and loves it! Pippa definitely enjoys having other friends to play with and frequently visits the local dog park. She’s like a ping-pong ball that bounces from one dog to another so that she can play with as many friends as possible. If there’s not a ton of dogs to play with, you’ll find her just running around, trying to play tag with all the other dogs, and occasionally tackling unsuspecting playmates.

Pippa has done great when she’s met kids at our various community events. She adores letting them pet and hug all over her – she can never have enough hugs! In fact, she’ll slowly worm her way into your lap if you’re not careful. The more the merrier in Pippa’s book!

Pippa is not on a steady exercise regimen. Pippa’s happy with a little wrestling with her foster siblings each day and trips to the dog park a couple of times a week. However, she would make a great running / jogging partner, hiking buddy, or extra play buddy for a canine-sibling. Pippa is game for whatever adventure her people are going on today! And once the adventuring is done, Pippa becomes an affectionate cuddle monster. Her go-to-move is an “octopus-hug” where she wraps herself around you as much as she can. You’ll have to meet her just to understand how great it is!
