Piper's Story

***Local adoption only: Piper needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking her to her follow-up vetting appointments for remaining vaccines and spay with PPR's vetting partner. These appointments have already been scheduled and their cost is covered in the adoption donation.***

Hi! I'm Piper, a 5monthold, 9 pound Shih Tzu–Poodle blend with a joyful wiggle, a curious nose and a love for toys of every kind. My name means “the one who plays the pipe,” and I try to bring that same cheerful energy to everything I do. I adore exploring, snuggling and carrying around treasures I find. I'm still learning where to potty, but I'm trying hard and appreciate encouragement from my people.

Favorite Things: Piper is happiest with a toy in her mouth, whether it's a stuffed animal, a ball for fetch or a paper towel roll she proudly claims as a prize. She loves car rides, snuffle mats, friendly greetings and curling up in the people bed for a full night's sleep.

Training and Manners: Piper knows “sit,” comes when called and walks politely on a leash. She's gentle, responsive to redirection and greets guests quietly. Housetraining is still developing and will need consistency. When home alone, she settles in a secure area.

Health and Care: Piper is a healthy girl who needs daily brushing and regular professional grooming. She drinks enthusiastically, so a water bottle setup helps keep her face clean and avoid staining. She will require a home in the Central Florida (Orlando) area that can take her to her remaining puppy vet appointments and spay, already scheduled with PPR's vetting partner and covered by her adoption donation.

Other Animals: Piper enjoys dogs of all sizes and adjusts nicely to their energy. She hasn't met cats, but her temperament suggests she could adapt with slow introductions.

Children: She hasn't been around children yet. With her sweet, gentle nature, she may do well with respectful kids (8+) and proper guidance.

Ideal Home: Piper would thrive with adopters who appreciate an active, inquisitive puppy and can continue her learning. She's well suited for an apartment, condo or townhome as long as she gets regular activity and mental stimulation. A patient family that enjoys her playful independence will help her shine.

Overall: Piper is a bright, affectionate, spirited pup who charms everyone she meets. With continued guidance—especially in housetraining and grooming comfort—she'll grow into a wonderful lifelong companion. She's ready to bring her sweetness and spark to a family who will adore her.

Could Piper be the one for you? Then visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $650.
