Foster or Foster to Adopt Home Needed! <br/>A special foster at a special price!<br/><br/>She's a little bit Country and a little bit Rock and Roll , check out one of our longest residents, our Pocket Pitty, Piper!<br/><br/>We would like to reintroduce everyone to Piper! This sweet girl has been with us since February of 2025 when she came to us with 7 puppies Piper's puppies all found homes, but there's been no real interest in momma and this poor girl is really trying her best to not let it get her down, but it isn't an easy ask. If you've been thinking of being a part of a dogs "happily ever after", now may be the perfect time to open up your home to fostering!<br/><br/>This pint-sized cutie is likely a Chihuahua, possibly Dachshund mix with a sprinkle of Pit Bull. We are endearingly calling her a "Pocket Pitbull" due to her small size and compact stature. At just 27# and about 3 years old, she is the perfect shin-high activity partner!<br/><br/>Piper is very active when running around the fenced yard, but settles down very nicely when given a toy to chew on and a cushy bed. She loves her toys and is looking for a loving family to give her a home, lifelong this time. She will need a home with older children since she is very strong despite only being about a foot tall at the shoulders. She needs work with not pulling on the leash and learning not to jump up, but with a little time and consistency, we are sure she will pick these things up. She just loves attention and will really respond to someone willing to give her the most precious of gifts, their heart and their time. Boarding is no place for a dog to live, so someone please help us to help Piper find a foster or a forever.<br/><br/>Piper has her own "brat pack" that she likes to wrestle, chase and hang out with but she can be dog selective and prefers dogs her size. She likely will be too much for cats in the home. Once she gets to know you, she loves hard, plays fiercely and will protect you to the end! Piper is really a sweet girl and deserves a chance at a home all her own.<br/><br/>Aside from toys, this girl likes her treats and takes them gently from your hand. These can be used as a positive reward in her training or just to aid in spoiling her. We think Piper deserves a chance at a forever home, don't you?<br/><br/>Fostering is free, but if you choose to adopt, a reduced adoption donation of $250 is being asked to cover a portion of her veterinary and care fees. She has been examined, vaccinated, treated for intestinal and external parasites and has been spayed.<br/><br/>Due to her size and energy level, foster or foster to adopt requirements are:<br/>•Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY to continue her vetting, if needed, prior to adoption. Once adopted, we recommend establishing her at your regular veterinarians office.<br/>•Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.<br/>•Piper can be dog selective so a meet and greet would need to happen with household dogs as well. With 7 puppies left behind, momma Piper seemed very relieved to finally have a much needed break once she arrived. <br/><br/>Piper is very active, loves her toys and is looking for an active family to give her a loving home, lifelong this time. She will need a home with older children since she is very steong despite only being about a foot tall at the shoulders. She needs work with not pulling on the leash and learning not to jump up, but with a little time and consistency, we are sure she will pick these things up. Dogs in the home must come to the meet and greet as well to be sure they will get along with the new pet. Veterinary reference check and adoption donation also required.
