Piper's Story
Piper's story is one of perseverance, resilience, and love. Piper was found on NC, and entered the shelter from a hoarding situation, totally terrified and emaciated. Her skin was awful with mange and she was facing certain euthanasia as no one would even give her a second look.

Over the course of her them in foster care, she has gained confidence and started to be more outgoing. Piper is approximately two years old, 45lbs. She has all the qualities of a fantastic family dog. She is affectionate, loving, and gentle. While she generally appears poised, she does have a silly side and can run like a bullet in circles or flop down on the grass for a good back scratch. She LOVES children and is good with other dogs. She is also a great yoga partner and will downward dog right next to you as you do your morning stretches.

As much progress as Piper has made, there are still moments of her past that haunt her. Sudden loud noises are still very scary for her. She improves with time and patience, but will do best in a home situated in a quiet neighborhood. A busy city setting will be quite hard on her tender little heart. She we also believe she would do best in a home with another confident resident dog to show her the ropes and help her build confidence. She is already potty trained and crate trained, though she has not needed a crate for ages now because she is such a well behaved girl!

If you live in the MD/NoVa/DC and would like to add a charming snuggle best friend and a loyal companion to your home, please fill out an application for Piper below:

https://forms.gle/FdB3M8Z7eXbMhRqq8
