Piper's Story

Hi! I'm Piper, a young, sweet, and cuddly girl. I love making friends and am very loyal. Life here at the Shelter is good after living as an unclaimed stray, but I dream of a forever home where I can share all my love. I have my moments of energy and need a little more training but I am well on my way. The staff are sure that Penny is my Mom and we have stayed together even while homeless as we are unclaimed strays. I do rely on my Mom for confidence in new situations at this time! With proper socializing I can learn to read other dogs better and master new skills independently. I am learning more every day as to how to be a "pet". Getting into the car, playing with toys and engaging in play are new skills I am quickly learning. Of course, my favorite thing to do is still cuddles! We're a package deal – double the fun and double the love! Adopting us means endless cuddles and faithful friendship. We can't wait to meet you and start our new chapter together!

MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...
CHILDREN: Yes, I love everyone!
CATS: Cats are interesting. With a slow introduction, it might be okay.
OTHER DOGS: I get along well with other dogs once I have had a proper introduction.
FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: Experience with large dog breeds is recommended but not required.
FENCED-IN YARD: A fenced in area would benefit me to roam around. I enjoy lounging outside on nice days.
HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: I would do well in a busy or quiet household.
SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: I would do okay being left alone for 8 hours/regular work shift.

SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME....
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium
HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes!
BIRTH DATE: Unknown - Estimated 2022/2023

Upper Credit Humane Society's Adoption Policy
We are thrilled you are considering adoption and our staff are eager to assist you! Our goal is to help you find your best-fit companion and provide the animals in our care with a second chance at a happy home. APPLICATION PROCESS Our main goal is to find the best home possible for every animal in our care. If you are interested in an animal you’ve seen on our website, submit an Adoption Profile on our website (uppercredit.com/adoption-profiles) or in person at the Shelter. This gives us an idea of what you are looking for in an animal. Schedule a time to come to the Shelter to meet the animals and chat with an Adoption Counsellor. The Adoption Counsellor will review your Adoption Profile with you to see if your expectations and lifestyle are a good match with the animal you are interested in adopting. They can also introduce you to other animals that may be a good fit. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance about introducing your pet to its new home. We ask that you make an appointment by calling us at 519-833-2287. Some of the animals in our care are in foster homes, so if they are one of the pets you would like to meet, we will coordinate the time with their foster. If, after meeting the animal and completing the application, you and the UCHS staff believe the animal is a good fit for your home, the adoption will be finalized in a separate visit to allow you time to prepare your home. When you return to take your animal home, you will be sent home with an adoption kit, microchip registration information and the medical records for your animal. If you have questions about our adoption process, please contact the shelter at 519-833-2287 or via email at info@uppercredit.com.
