Pinto's Story

Meet Pinto!

Positives: Pinto is a sweet girl who is looking for her forever home. She loves people and is very affectionate with our volunteers. She's a cuddle bug and likes to jump on the couch with you to hang out. She is a good listener and we believe is highly trainable. Her favourite thing is her toys which include squeaky toys and a rubber ball. So far, she has been non-destructive with the toys and seems to look after them. We think she would be a wonderful companion for a family who can provide her with stability. She’s an active breed and would do well being an outdoor activity partner for someone who liked to spend time in the mountains.

Things she needs support on: Pinto is fairly reserved and has lived in a shelter environment for several months. We have noted that she can get overwhelmed when meeting new dogs and needs slow interactions. In some instances, she can become a bit reactive and we think she would do best as an only dog in the home. She will need an experienced lead to help her navigate her life and allow her to decompress. She is an active breed and will need someone who can provide her with the mental and physical stimulation she needs. Since she has been in a shelter environment, her new family will need to establish a new routine with her, build trust and potentially refresh her with basic training.

Location: Langley, BC
Age: 3 Years Old
Size: 50 to 60 lbs
Gender: Female
Vaccinations and spay/neuter: Vaccinations are UTD and she is spayed.
Potty trained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
Kid friendly: Yes
Dog friendly: Yes but with slow meeting and interactions
Cat friendly: Unknown at this time but we think she would not be due to her moderate prey drive
Energy level: Low to Medium
Drive: We have observed a moderate prey drive with Pinto
