Pinot's Story

Meet Pinot!

There’s something about Pinot that makes you believe she’s just waiting for her chance to become the dog she was always meant to be.

Pinot is a 1-year-old, 52-pound girl who appears to be a possible Bully/Weimaraner mix, with a gorgeous reddish-champagne coat and the most beautiful eyes. She came to us as a stray after being dumped alongside three other dogs, and it’s clear that life hasn’t given her much of a chance to simply be a young dog.

At first, Pinot can be a little timid and unsure. But when we gave her the opportunity to meet another dog and let her guard down, we saw something wonderful...
She BOUNCED.
She wanted to PLAY.
She wanted to be a normal, happy dog.
There’s a playful little girl hiding underneath all that uncertainty, and she is so ready to come out.

Pinot wants to be petted. She wants to be loved. She wants to play with toys—even though she’s still trying to figure out exactly what those strange squeaky things are supposed to do. She knows one thing for sure: the squeaker is interesting!

What Pinot needs most is someone willing to give her time, patience, and plenty of encouragement. She’s still learning that hands can be gentle, affection can be safe, toys can be fun, and people can be trusted.

We have a feeling that once Pinot understands what it means to be loved, she is going to blossom into something absolutely beautiful.

She doesn’t need someone to expect her to have it all figured out.
She just needs someone to say, “You’re safe now. We’ll figure it out together.”
If you have the patience to help this sweet girl discover the happy, playful dog hiding inside her, Pinot is ready for her second chance.

Her adoption fee is $150!

If you are interested please stop by or visit our website at www.Amherstanimalshelter.org to apply!
