Pina's Story

Meet 3 year old Pina who is being fostered in the Kingston area.

Pina is a loving, loyal girl who is ready to find her forever home. She enjoys her freedom to run and explore, and walks beautifully on leash—curious about the world around her without reacting to other dogs or people. While new situations can sometimes startle her, she continues to grow in confidence every day. At home, she will alert bark if she senses something unfamiliar, but settles quickly once reassured, proud of her job as your little protector.

Pina may be shy at first when meeting new people, which is completely understandable, but give her a few minutes and some gentle encouragement and she quickly blossoms into an affectionate cuddle bug. She loves attention, belly rubs, head scratches, and being close to her humans. She has been around respectful, dog-savvy cats and coexists well with them, though she does enjoy chasing squirrels and birds in the yard. She has also been exposed to toddlers and does well with children when treated kindly.

Pina has great house manners—she will ask to go outside after meals and enjoys having access to a fenced yard, though regular walks can easily meet her needs. She prefers being close to her people over using a crate and happily settles in shared spaces, often cozying up with her foster brother. She has learned to sit (with a hand signal) and understands “no,” showing she is eager and capable of learning more.

Pina has had two surgeries for hip dysplasia but has recovered beautifully and is now thriving. She’s a resilient, affectionate girl who will transition into her forever home with ease and grow into a confident, devoted companion.
Pina is truly a love sponge—ready to give and receive all the love in her forever home.

If you're interested in Pina and willing to give her a chance, please fill out an adoption via our website
