Picasso's Story
Meet Picasso!
Like his famous namesake, Picasso is one of a kind. Found as a stray, this sweet boy is still learning that the world can be a safe place. Beneath his shy exterior is a gentle dog who readily approaches for pets and has a soft, wagging tail for the people he trusts.

My Ideal Home
Picasso would love a calm, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace. A predictable routine, gentle encouragement, and positive reinforcement will help him continue building confidence and feeling secure.

Good with Other Pets?
Picasso's history with other animals is unknown. Slow, thoughtful introductions are recommended with any future furry family members.

I am a playgroup rockstar!

Good with Kids?
Because Picasso can be fearful in new situations, ACC recommends a home without children under 13.

Things to Know
Picasso can become anxious in unfamiliar environments, but he responds well to a patient, low-pressure approach. He's also working on his leash manners, and with a little guidance and consistency, he's sure to make great progress. Give Picasso the time he needs, and you'll discover a loyal companion waiting to blossom.

My Boroughbreaker writes: He is very excited by treats and quickly found out we were hiding them in my bag, which made him really antsy for them! He is still learning his leash manners. He is very strong, and required a very firm grasp while walking. On the occasion that we crossed another dog on the street, we did need to be forceful to stop him from getting provoked. He seemed to warm up to us as the day went along.

A Volunteer Wrote: He's a great addition to play group at the shelter where he loves romping with other dogs, and he's a great addition to any stroll to the park: This petite boy is so adorable that a stranger called out, "He's so cute!" when they saw him leaning against me, wagging his tail just because I was speaking to him. When you add petting to the speaking, his tail goes twice as fast. Picasso is a darling boy and, even living in a pop-up crate in the hallway for far too long, he has remained resilient and kind. Please don't make him wait any longer! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 42lbs Age: 3yrs 1mths 3wks
