Phoenix's Story
Meet Phoenix

Vibe Check:
Retired from Ridglan Farms, wanting to forget what she has endured. Ready for the good life.

Fun Fact:
Phoenix loves his foster siblings and learns so much from them!

Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge
Age: Adult
Weight: 17 pounds
Fostered in: Waukesha, Wisconsin

Phoenix's Origin Story

Like all the beagles released from Ridglan Farm, Phoenix has not had a life full of family, love, and socialization. She will need patience and understanding to make up for lost time.

Health Notes

Phoenix is spayed and is fully up to date on her vetting. She is currently eating a raw diet, and it is recommended that an adopter continue with this to ensure that her tummy remains stable. Many of the beagles that came out of RF had significant digestive issues for a while, and the raw diet seems to have stabilized that. The Ridglan beagles have been found to be prone to vaccine reactions. She will need to receive Benadryl 24 hours before and 24 hours after vaccines to prevent this going forward.

Personality

Phoenix is a brave girl. She has overcome a lot of trauma in her five weeks of freedom. She has learned to walk on a leash (getting better all the time!), and enjoys outdoor time, especially running and sniffing in a fenced yard. She is remarkably adaptable, and would thrive in a home where she is included in daily life, and can become the active, playful girl she should have always been.

Phoenix is so invested in becoming part of your family. She currently sleeps in an x-pen, but really wants to come up on the people bed. She would love if her family would let her join them at night!

She is a sweet girl, but you can tell she has had a hard life. She cautious, and wants to be near or see you. She is playful and eager to learn to be a dog.

Family Matters

Phoenix greatly benefits from having confident dog siblings. She enjoys companionship and play, and forms strong bonds. She likes people large and small, though she is unsure at the beginning and will need to greet at her own pace. Phoenix is a darling girl who just wants a family to love her and give her a forever home.

Things Phoenix Loves

Cuddling with other dogs
Gentle affection
Playing in the yard
Sniffy walks
Meeting kind, gentle people and collecting compliments
Warm weather
Green grass
Existing in general

Signature Move

Unleashing her precious beagle howl

Bucket List

Learning how to be a pet
Her own fluffy bed (but sleeping in yours!)
A dish that will always have enough healthy food to fill her tummy
Lots of walks
Space to sniff with that beagle nose
A patient, loving family with soft hands and lots of love to offer

A Few House Rules

Because these dogs have been through so much, it is our job as those entrusted with their care to be very thoughtful in their placement.
