Phoenix's Story

Age requirement 21 years old<br/>Phoenix is located in a foster home located in Ft Worth Tx<br/><br/>NO Tie outs NO electric Fence <br/><br/>Transport to your area is available through our rescue after adoption <br/><br/>We at Abby Road Rescue and sister rescue Furry Sidekick Rescue are honored to be working alongside Karen Perl, who has worked tirelessly to save dogs in need. While these dogs are not directly in our rescue care, we are courtesy posting on her behalf to help them find the loving homes they deserve. <br/><br/>Application is required. Copy and Paste <br/>https://forms.gle/Qrp8LB91kAhKjawP6 <br/><br/>Phoenix is a 2-3yo neutered male pit bull terrier mix weighing 45-50lbs. He is short and squatty a real cutie! He is heartworm negative, up to date on all his shots, potty trained, and crate trained. He does not like the crate unless it is an open wire crate not the solid plastic airline crate. He growls and snaps in the solid crates but not the wire crates.<br/>He was left at the local city shelter and was on the euthanasia list for space. And we pulled him outta there and he is in foster care. He rides well in the car but if your car sits up high because he is short and squatty you may have to help him get in the car. No anxiety with car rides.<br/> He likes the lady dogs not so much keen on the male dogs. He has not been cat tested. He would prefer to be the only dog or maybe have a girlfriend doggie buddy. <br/>His ideal home could be an apartment or home as he likes staying indoors. He goes out to potty and then wants to come right back inside! He knows his commands but can get excited on walks and pull so we recommend using a harness on walks. His ideal home could be with a single person, or couple, or family with older children like 15yoa or older. He can get excited and knock over a small child in his excitement. He needs his forever home if that could be you?<br/><br/>On behalf of Karen Perl, the adoption fee is $350. Transport can be arranged after the adoption is finalized. If you prefer to arrange your own transport, the adoption fee will remain the same. Thank you so much for your valuable support in helping these dogs find loving homes.

Abby Road Rescue Sanctuary's Adoption Policy
Submitting your application – that's Step 1 Step 2: Group Text Introduction We’ll start a group text chat with the dog’s foster or rescuer. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get to know more about the dog. If you'd like, we can also set up a video meet-and-greet through our phones for a more personal connection. Step 3: Virtual Home Visit We'll schedule a Google Meet or FaceTime call to virtually tour your home. We'll need to see common living areas and the yard—no need to show bedrooms. Please have a piece of mail with your address visible during the call. After this step I will call your references. Step 4: Adoption Contract Once everything checks out, I’ll submit your application to the board along with my recommendation for approval. While the final decision is up to them, they typically go with my recommendation. Step 5: Final Details This step includes a conversation about ownership, adoption fees, any applicable deposits, and transport arrangements (if needed) could be 5-30 days depending on time frame.
