Phoenix's Story

Phoenix is an extra-large boy, 100 pounds or so. He likes other friendly, easygoing dogs. He needs an adults-only home, and he will be your best friend.<br/><br/>Phoenix was adopted from us as a 3-month-old puppy after we rescued him, his brothers and mother from Killeen Animal Services, where they were held after their owner was killed. He was a sweet, friendly, playful puppy but came back to us anxious and traumatized. Over the last year and a half, he has regained his equilibrium and is once again a happy boy. Our goal is to make good matches of dogs, people, and home environments. Our application and screening process may feel onerous, but we want lifetime matches, and if it does not work out, we take our dogs back, so we do our best to prevent that! We are all volunteers and we will respond to your inquiry or application as soon as we can, usually within 1-2 days. If none of our dogs is a good fit, we encourage responsible adopters to visit their local shelter to foster or adopt.
