Phoebe's Story
Meet Phoebe!

Phoebe is a young Australian Kelpie mix with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life! At around a year old, she's still growing into the amazing dog she's going to become. If you're looking for an adventure buddy who is always ready to get outside, Phoebe may be your perfect match.

Phoebe is incredibly friendly and loves meeting new people. She can be a little vocal when she encounters someone or something new and, when she's excited, she sometimes forgets that all four paws belong on the ground. The good news? She's been working hard on keeping her composure and is making great progress every day.

Like many young, intelligent working breeds, Phoebe thrives when she's learning. She already knows how to sit and is currently working on patience and waiting politely before going through doorways. She's very food motivated, making training both rewarding and fun.

Phoebe has plenty of energy to spare and would love an active family who enjoys hiking, exploring, or spending lots of time outdoors. She'll happily join you on any adventure! She is still learning good leash manners, but she's always eager to get out and go.

Phoebe gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions to play with. Because she's still so excitable and doesn't always realize her own size and strength, she'd likely do best with older children or a family committed to helping her continue learning polite manners. She would probably not be the best fit for a home with cats, as she has a strong instinct to chase squirrels and other small animals.

When playtime rolls around, Phoebe is all in. Tug-of-war is one of her favorite games and, while she's still figuring out the concept of bringing the ball back, she absolutely loves chasing it. With a little patience and consistency, she's sure to keep building on her skills.

Phoebe is looking for a home with room to run, people who will keep both her body and mind active, and a family excited to continue her training. She's a smart, loving young dog with so much potential, and she's ready to find someone who will help her grow into the incredible companion she's meant to be.

Submit your Adoption Application today:

https://sanctuaryone.org/rescue-animals/adopt-us/adoption-application/
