Phoebe's Story

Phoebe came to us through a suspected cruelty case. She had a large laceration above her brow likely due to blunt forced trauma. Needless to say, she will be staying with us until we can find her forever home. Phoebe is sweet and friendly, and will be a perfect fit in a lucky home. She has been bounced around her entire life, already on her 6th home prior to our agents taking her. Stability has not been in her deck of cards yet, and we are striving to make her next home her final home.

First and foremost, Phoebe is deaf. She needs a person or family willing to put in the extra effort to train her. Not that it's difficult, but it's different than a hearing dog. Think of it as a learning curve that you get to tackle together. She is so smart and trainable, and with a dedicated family she will know her basics in no time. She does also already know the sign for sit! She seems like she would do great with dogs and cats, and we would prefer a home without small children only due to the fact that she is a runner. If she sees an open door, she is gone.

Phoebe is just over a year old, and has such a long life ahead of her. She is such a good girl. She loves every person she meets, and has given humans so much grace considering how many times they have done her wrong. Phoebe is someone's dream dog, and we can not wait to see her find her family and finally live the life she deserves.
