Phoebe (159201) (In a foster home)'s Story

Phoebe is a quiet, sweet girl with the softest heart. She already knows “sit,” is house trained, and is currently working on kennel training like a champ. This lovely lady is gentle, polite, and ready to find a peaceful home where she can continue building her confidence at her own pace.

When first approached, Phoebe tends to sit calmly and observe the world around her. She isn’t one to rush into things — she prefers to take it all in. Once she feels safe, she happily accepts treats (ever so gently!) and enjoys calm, soothing pets all over. She may be hesitant in new environments or if she feels pressured, but with patience and understanding, she truly blossoms.

Phoebe has a low energy level and would thrive in a quiet home with a predictable routine. She’s easy to leash up, though walks can sometimes feel overwhelming to her. With encouragement and reassurance from a patient adopter who understands shy dogs, she’ll continue gaining confidence and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place.

In playgroup, Phoebe showed wonderful dog manners. She greets other dogs politely, enjoys sniffing and exploring, and communicates appropriately when needed. As a more mature lady, she’d prefer canine companions who match her calm energy — she’s happy to leave the roughhousing to the youngsters!

Phoebe is looking for someone who will see the beauty in her gentle spirit and give her the time she needs to shine. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, soft-hearted companion who will quietly fill your home with love.

Phoebe is currently in foster care outside of the shelter.
