Phineas 's Story

Say hello to Phineas 💙
This handsome little guy is as cute as they come — but we want to be completely honest: Phineas is not your average easy-going pup. He has a lot of wonderful qualities, but he also comes with some very real quirks that require a special, experienced adopter.

Phineas is slightly vision impaired, and because of that he can become startled easily. If he gets scared or surprised, he may snap, so he needs a home that understands how important it is to move calmly, avoid sudden touches, and watch his cues. His foster mom has learned how to read him well and truly adores him — and because she respects his boundaries, she’s been able to help him thrive.

Now for one of Phineas’ biggest habits… he will eat poop (yes, we said it 😅) and he is very stubborn about it. If you try to correct him, he can go full Tasmanian Devil mode, and he does not respond well to discipline. Phineas needs someone who can manage behaviors through prevention, redirection, and structure — not punishment.

🐾 How is he with other dogs?
He does fine with other dogs, but he can be a little standoffish at first — mostly because he gets nervous if he doesn’t realize another dog is approaching.

🦴 Medical note:
Phineas is currently wearing a splint to help correct a mild leg deformity. We don’t know yet if it will fully correct it, but it should not hinder his lifestyle. He may limp if he plays too hard, but otherwise he’s still able to enjoy life like a normal pup. He is up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, and micro chipped.

Phineas needs a home with someone who:
✅ isn’t afraid of a “spicy” little personality
✅ understands dogs with fear/startle responses
✅ can manage his environment (no surprises, no poop snacks!)
✅ will love him for who he is — quirks and all

This little guy is so very, very cute, and under all that sass is a dog who deserves a patient person willing to meet him where he is. His foster mom believes in him — and we do too.

Phineas is looking for the right home, not just any home.
