Phillip's Story

Meet Phillip… aka the Vanilla Thrilla, aka your new tiny supervisor with a very strong opinions department.

Phillip is a certified Golden Oldie™ with 10 pounds of pure “I run this meeting now” energy. On walks, he will absolutely be setting the pace. You’re not walking Phillip~ Phillip is walking you. Hope you can keep up.

This distinguished gentleman joined Albert's Dog Lounge after being surrendered with four of his friends in Tennessee, and he’s been perfecting his retirement lifestyle in Fitchburg, WI ever since.

Let’s cover the essentials:

Phillip is low energy, but don’t confuse that with low personality. He’s more of a “short burst of leadership followed by a nap” kind of guy. His signature move? Power napping… immediately followed by side-eye if you dare interrupt him.

He gets along great with other dogs (especially chill ones who respect personal space and snack timing). He’s a gentleman at the food bowl, truly. However, when it comes to being picked up, Phillip has… boundaries. Think “tiny HR manager with teeth.” Because of this, a home without young kids is the best fit.

Cats? Phillip has previously reviewed them and has decided: no thank you.

His love language is food. All food. Any food. If you’re cooking, he will be there supervising like a small, judgmental sous chef waiting for something to “accidentally” fall. He’s also treat motivated, which is great news for anyone who enjoys being manipulated by a 10 pound boss.

At night, Phillip sleeps like a king in a fluffy bed placed on his foster dad’s bed (yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds). He clocks a solid 7 hours and expects cuddles before and after. This is non-negotiable.

Fashion? Absolutely not. Sweaters will be rejected immediately and possibly aggressively. Phillip prefers a “natural look” and values autonomy in all wardrobe decisions.

His prized possession is a toy named Lammy, which he shakes around daily like he’s putting on a one dog show for your entertainment. Honestly, it works.

Health wise, Phillip is doing well! His liver levels are being monitored, and he takes Denamarin (about $32/month). He’s neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, housebroken (as long as you respect his schedule), and does great on a leash. No crate needed, just provide a throne (fluffy bed) and you’re good.

Final note: Phillip’s bucket list includes learning how to use the internet and your credit card. He has seen Amazon and has ideas.

If you’re looking for a hilarious, independent, slightly spicy, deeply lovable little guy who will keep you entertained and mildly controlled at all times, Phillip is ready to run your household.

Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $350, ($600 for a pair).
