Phil D's Story

Meet Phil D!

Phil D is a one-year-old, 18-pound Terrier mix with movie-star looks and a personality to match. Everywhere he goes, people stop to compliment how handsome he is, and he happily accepts the attention. Phil is a social, playful pup who loves spending time with other dogs. He's done great with both small and large canine friends and would likely enjoy having a canine companion in his forever home, but he's just as happy soaking up attention from his people.

One of Phil's favorite hobbies is eating! He's a true food enthusiast who's always excited to sample whatever you're making and never turns down a treat. His love of snacks makes him highly trainable, and he's already proven to be a quick learner. In foster care, he's mastered "sit," "down," "wait," and "paw," and he's eager to learn even more.

Phil is fully housebroken and has been a wonderful houseguest. He enjoys cozying up under blankets, carrying around his favorite little "treasures," and staying close to his people. Whether he's curled up next to you on the couch or following you from room to room, he loves being part of the action.

On walks, Phil can get excited and pull a bit on the leash, but he's making great progress every day, responding well to guidance and learning that not every adventure needs to be treated like a race. He's a young dog who is still building confidence and learning about the world, and he's blossoming more and more as he settles into foster care.

If you're looking for a smart, affectionate, playful companion who will keep you laughing, join you for adventures, and happily serve as your official taste-tester in the kitchen, Phil D may be the perfect match for you! Phil D is currently being fostered in Staten Island, New York and his adoption fee is $550.

"To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
