Phantom's Story

Hi! Phantom’s the name and finding the perfect home is my game. I am a 2 year old Westie/Maltese mix. I AM 100% DEAF!!!!!!!

I came to Tyler’s Rescue as an owner surrender due to getting in a fight with another dog. I do not like other animals and prefer to be with humans only. I have never been around children before and I don’t know what to make of them. But I have slowly started to meet a few of them, so potentially I could live in a home with children 12 years and older as of right now. I take a little bit to warm up to people at first, but I was never socialized in my old home so meeting people and seeing the outside world is completely new to me but I am getting better!

Once I warm up, I am the best friend you could ever ask for. I want to be with you all the time wherever you go. I do have some anxiety, but my foster family has been working really hard with me on it. But can you blame me? I was left to my own devices my entire life and never socialized to people other than the humans in my home. I am housebroken. I am neutered. I am up-to-date on all of my shots and vaccines and I am micro chipped.

I am looking for a home with no other animals preferably with a big backyard that I could run around in. I so desperately want to be loved and cuddled and bond with my new family. I would make a great companion! I am hoping to find a family that is willing to take a chance on a special needs dog and show me that the world has so much to offer and that despite my disability, I can succeed.

A word from my Foster mom: “He is a loyal and fun companion and just needs to be exposed to more outside distractions, such as cars and people. He is a perfect comfort animal who will stay by the side of anyone who adopts him.”
